Coming to Grace Place , I thought that I would step into a community that just provides housing for students, but it was so much more than that. I was changed because of the leaders and not only did I learn from them, but I was also stretched out of my comfort zone in order to grow and see God move. Grace Place taught me to pursue God and in return pursue other with love and intentionality. I know that what I experienced in Grace Place during the year, I get to keep for a lifetime.

Before I came to Grace Place I was desiring to be discipled and I asked God for a mentor. His answer was Grace Place. The leadership team at Grace Place was committed to seeing growth in me from the very beginning. Being surrounded by a group of people who saw me the way Christ does, allowed for me to start viewing myself the same way. I started really believing in this new identity of being a righteous son of God. The truth was spoken to me in love and I was challenged to live with a greater level of excellence than ever before. Grace Place taught me to live more in line with the truth and that it is the Truth that makes us free. I can say that I have never felt more free than I have after doing this program. When I came into grace place I had never had healthy friendships with leaders. I didn't understand what healthy confrontation looked like, and I was more afraid of what others thought of me then living to a high standard. Throughout the year I was constantly shown, taught, and challenged to pursue excellence. I came into Grace Place being very insecure about who I am and where I am heading in life. I was scared of the leadership and what they thought about me. I served for identity instead of from identity. The leadership of Grace Place with their intentionality and actions showed me that they loved me and believed in me just the way I am. Everything that I learnt in First Year was given space to be applied in my second year. I know that Daniel was one of the biggest contributing factors to my BSSM 2nd Year experience: from the Family Nights, to the ministry trips, to the various growth opportunities that were provided for us all. I so appreciated the trust that was in each one of us as part of Daniel's house to lead and be leaders. The house was a major commitment throughout the year but it certainly had a numeral amount of benefits. I can honestly say that being a part of the house I was able to grow in confidence and also discover what exactly I am passionate about. Many times throughout the year I was blown away by gleaning from Daniel's love, teaching, favor, revelation, and connections. GRACE PLACE is not your average house. Daniel Newton, our house dad, invested so much in each of us last year. I personally was transformed by Daniel's teaching, advice, and friendship, which helped me get the absolute most from my time at BSSM. Living in GRACE PLACE, the house managed and mentored by Daniel Newton, was a great privilege for me. Besides the training we got at BSSM, Daniel took time every week to invest in us and coach us. He helped me to grow in the understanding of God's goodness and in just spending one year in the house, while doing 1st year, I got equipped to start a group back home for myself, where I saw the same results in many people’s lives, that I saw in our house while doing 1st year and being mentored by Daniel. Just to mention the most important thing for me: Getting free from condemnation and building my life on the foundation of the finished work of the cross and letting everything else flow from that. Before coming to Grace Place, I had no idea what a true family looked like. I was focused only on myself, my needs, and how to survive on my own. The Grace Place community taught me to live in relationship with others, knowing I am fully loved for who I am. I learned from personal experience how love truly casts out all fear and began to live in total freedom of being myself and embracing family. Grace Place gave me numerous opportunities to press in and be activated in what I was learning at BSSM. I learned how to step past fear and embrace the process of becoming a new creation in Christ. I learned my true identity as a daughter and that all things are possible with God.

I grew up in a small church community and never really experienced such deep discipleship with spiritual leaders. Grace place was able to show me all the benefits that come with fully submitting to its leadership and trusting them more than I trusted my own ability to fix my circumstance . The program has great leaders who create an environment where you can take risks and challenge yourself and learn from your mistakes. Grace Place taught me how community and relationships ought to look like as they build their own with core values and now I will be able to take those and build my own relationships and communities. I'm a 'people person' but prior to the program this was hidden behind fear of men and rejection. But this year I really felt like the leaders were able to see so much potential and were able to call it out . I learnt so much about how God sees me and how I ought to lead others and myself. I learnt what it means to let go of what I feel and how everyday is a new chance of being more like Jesus.

When God told me to apply for Grace Place I immediately felt disqualified and not good enough for it. But I followed God's voice and as I came into the program I stepped into a special grace and freedom. The leaders loved me where I was at but helped me to get to the next level, to break off fears, lies and insecurities. They believed in me and challenged me. I've never known before what it means to pull on a leader or how to submit to one. I've never seen community that is like family like Grace Place. I've never seen people who are so selfless, generous, intentional and who love Jesus and the bible like these people. As I was finally submitted to a leader, under his covering and as I was fully honest with my mentor I got breakthrough this year that I've been fighting for for years. I can say with confidence that Grace Place impacted me so much and that I will never be the same ever again after this year.

I loved being in Grace Place. Being in this program has stretched me and helped me to see what true family and living in excellence looks like. All of the leaders were so full of love and honor for each other and all they encountered. It is impossible to be a part of this program and not be transformed for the Kingdom of God. Grace Place has truly changed my life. The leaders are so intentional, loving and are always calling you to a higher standard. It's place where any pride or fear that you have truly gets brought to the surface. Sometimes this isn't an easy process, but the outcome is beautiful. I personally learned what it truly looks like to trust God, in everything. Realizing that God actually put these leaders in my life and that not trusting them was not trusting Him with that was a huge turning point for me. When I fully said yes and submitted to the program and the leaders everything changed. The growth that started to happen was greater than any I've seen in my life and also it became a whole lot more fun! As my focus shifted off of myself and onto the Lord and trusting in Him, everything changed.

My experience in Grace Place was incredible. One thing that I really appreciated about doing Grace Place (on top of doing BSSM) was that it's such an incredible way to get instantly connected into a family filled with amazing high caliber people. These are the people that really championed me on the most, but also that challenged me the most in what I believed and to run after God harder and harder. I wanted to surround myself with people that were really going after the same thing, and Grace Place did just that for me. The girls that I lived with were especially important in my journey of doing first year. You walk into a house that is already living under the same standard and culture of honor. The girls that I lived with were the girls that I was the closest with, and that really encouraged me in my walk this year. Grace Place offered many incredible opportunities and I really benefited from each one. I feel extremely blessed by every event night (getting to hear incredible speakers, learning to preach and prophesy, being involved with outreach...etc). It was more that I could have ever expected, and I would 100% do it all over again!

This year in Grace Place has not only given me a family and an amazing community to run with but it transformed me in a radical way. It provides a perfect platform to apply what you learn at BSSM and you actually start living this out with your housemates, the community, and the leaders. With Grace Place there is certainly more time investment and challenging moments but it is totally worth it and you get so much more out of this year then you could ask for. The best thing is it is all about Jesus, He is the center of it all, He’s done it all! In this discipleship program I learnt how important it is to have leadership in your life and what a lifestyle in excellence looks like simply by having amazing leaders as role models pouring into me.
